The Birthday Pictures

Dusty was totally thrilled to be at the party!

My Scotty loved his cakey.
Scott imitating his Uncle Omar.
Oh my, what a good looking cake (if I do say so myself!)
One of my favorite things to do for my family is make their birthday cake/dessert.  This year I made a "Fudgy Pudgy" cake.  It was a little labor intensive, but it was so worth it.  It was very yummy!  You wouldn't want to know how much butter I used :)

Our Seattle Trip

A week ago, we went to Seattle to see the play "Hello Dolly."  Scott got a great deal on the tickets.  We went to the 5th Avenue theater.  It was everybody's first time except for Scott.  Unfortunately, we couldn't take pictures at the theater.  We were told that the artwork was original and they didn't want anyone copying it.  It was very ornate and Chinese.  It was a great day and we really enjoyed being together.  However, we missed our big kids.
First stop, CleElum Bakery.  I had a chocolate eclair - yumm-o!  Abby had a maple Persian -so good.  Dustin also had an eclair.  I can't remember what Scott and Keenan had - I was too busy enjoying my eclair!
Yummy choices at the bakery!
Next stop, our favorite downtown Seattle thrift shop.  Keenan got a cool Kirra jacket (I'm told they sell them at Pac Sun).  Abby got a cute, cute yellow flowered skirt and a pair of Old Navy slacks.  I got a cool water bottle and some nick nacky stuff.  The boys went to a sport shop down the road and then Scott napped in the car.  He was a good sport.
We were lucky enough to get to downtown Seattle when the St. Patrick's day parade was going on.  The bagpipe band was VERY cool.  It was drizzly and cold out, but we still enjoyed the parade.  We even got a few pieces of candy thrown our way!
We ended our trip with dinner at Red Robin.  It was spendy but yummy!  We thought a lot about Zack while we were here.

More of the Day

So many choices for the retainer - she went with neon pink and green in a tie-dye pattern.
Dr. Rob giving a little advice - wear your retainer ALWAYS!
Abby's favorite part of the day - making the mold for her retainer - gag!
All done!  They even gave her a cute treat.  My favorite line was now you can "Crunch" on anything you want.
The final check.  This a very attractive "pose".

Abby's Big Day

Abby standing VERY still for the rounder x-ray.

Just seconds after the braces are off - beautiful smile:)
Taking those nasty braces off.  They came off surprisingly easy-one piece for the top and one for the bottom.
Working on getting that metal out of there!  Abby is just radiant!
Still a braceface - but not for long!

Sunday Afternoon

Dad making dinner - hooray for dads that cook!  I am so lucky.

My two little dolls - aren't they so cute?!  Dusty is wearing his new pants - good looking kid huh?
